Getting you back in the game
Whether you’re an age-group athlete or a weekend warrior, everyone gets injured at some time. Through the highest professional standards, and working in close partnership with the physiotherapy services in the NHS and privately, including specialist sports injuries physiotherapists in both London and Brighton, the aim is to swiftly get you on the road to recovery.
Multidisciplinary Approach
Everyone and their injury are unique. It’s for this reason sports injuries or trauma require a multidisciplinary team (MDT) approach. In order to get the best functional outcome, the anatomy and the physiology of an injury must be understood and respected. The injury should never be managed in isolation but the whole patient considered. This is an approach essential to insure a rapid recovery and return to normal activities.
Optimising Healing
From initial management to post-operative rehabilitation following surgery, surgeons and physiotherapists work together to insure that both the soft tissue and the bone injury are given the optimal environment for healing.
Acute Injuries
Whether your injury is a sprain, a bruise, a tear or a fracture, the inflammatory response will be similar. Prompt and thorough examination and investigation will enable early diagnosis, and appropriate initial management will reduce your pain, swelling and stiffness to enable the team (surgeon and physiotherapist) to get you back on track as quickly as possible.
Chronic Injuries
If you have a problem that has gone on for some time, the affected joint or limb may have become stiffer and undergone compensatory changes. These issues will need to be addressed as part of your treatment to insure that any surgical intervention has the highest chance of success.
